Most deadheads would agree that the majority of discussion on the Archive forum has to do with the Grateful Dead. Only for the last month it has been. For 3 years prior to that it was not this way. If you take our discussions away, then what really IS the archive forum? Tech support. General questions. Accouncements about the project. Posts from fans of other bands pointing out interesting shows they just uploaded. We had tons of this until about a month ago when they got trampled by angry GD fans. To emphasize this, I had someone email me because their post got buried underneath Bob Flames last week and they never got a response to their uploading question. Ugh. Hopefully that clarifies our actions.

So, what your saying is this forum used to be about new show uploadings and technical support? I've only been a member since June, so I guess I didn't realize how much this has changed! Thanks everyone for clarrifying this. Now I understand the problem. I agree that if the website was once different than it is today, it needs to return to its original state (i.e. less Dead posting.) Thanks for the help. Peace.

You can actually go back and read the whole forum from the beginning if you want. There is a tip in this thread: http://www.archive.org/iathreads/post-view.php?id=21201 Sub in the forum you want in place of "sflan" in that link in there (this forum is "etree"). Then start clicking, "wayback". ;) Edit: *Most* of "whole forum" for etree, actually. As displayed the very, very first posts are not clickable-to in that output. I had fiugured out a workaround but I forget what it is now. I think it's only a couple weeks' worth chopped anyway.

I agree that archive.org should go back to the way it used to be! with downloadable grateful dead soundboards!!!!!!

archive.org sucks now.

I have 130 five star soundboards I downloaded before the day archive.org died. I'll trade with anyone who wants them. ascheylus@yahoo.com
